Hello, I am Officer SAM CARPENTER.

On behalf of the 2,500 sworn and civilian employees of the San Antonio Police Department, I would like to welcome you to the San Antonio Police Department’s services for victims’ of crime.

Did you know that SAPD offers in person interpreting services as well as Deaf Link® video interpreting services, to victims of crime, at all SAPD police substations? These Services include; police reports, investigations, and Victims Assistance for all offenses.

Interpreting is a necessity for the deaf and hard of hearing, especially for Victims of Crime. SAPD is offering qualified interpreters to provide equal access to all SAPD services as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act.

We hope that SAPD’s, Project for the  Deaf and Hard of Hearing will also be a method for the sharing of information and ideas. If in any way you have an idea on how to provide better services for our deaf citizens, please do not hesitate to let us know.

The tremendous outpouring of support from members of the Police Department and our Community, to make services readily available to Deaf Citizens, makes me extremely confident that we will succeed as partners.
